Nusa Dua, Bali - The Regional Secretariat of CTI-CFF recognized that mutual benefit could be gained through enhanced cooperation with partners. CTI-CFF endorsed Coral Triangle Center as a development partner at the 5th CTI-CFF Ministerial Meeting in Manado in May 2014 and now formalizes several relevant collaborative efforts in fostering capacity building and enhancing key stakeholders’ participation in achieving CTI-CFF goals through an MoU. This MoU will be valid for 5 years, covering cooperation on the following aspects:

Though it has fresh coastal air, it is a bit daunting to walk through the conference halls in Nusa Dua, Bali, let alone share the stage with thoughtful leaders at the Coral Triangle Initiative conference on sustainable marine tourism this week.

What lies between the lines is that we have not done enough for the reefs, the fisheries and the security of our food.

Jakarta: Over 300 leaders from the business, government, and non-government sectors representing 17 countries are set to converge in Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia, on August 27-29, 2015 to map out policies, strategies, and share innovative means to promote sustainable marine tourism in the Coral Triangle – the world’s epicenter of marine biodiversity.

The Seascapes Technical Working Group will be holding a Seascapes Pacific Mini Regional Exchange on September 29 to October 1, 2015 at the Goddard Building, University of Queensland, Brisbane, Australia. The event is hosted by the Government of Australia. A total of 10 participants from the three (3) Pacific countries (Papua New Guinea (4), Solomon Islands (4) and Timor Leste (2) will be joining the event. This is a 3-day workshop organized by the Conservation International with funding from the Australian Government through its Coral Triangle Initiative Support Program.

Following the signing of the Term of Employment and Employee Agreement in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, on 24 March 2015, Prof. Widi Pratikto was officially appointed as Executive Director (ED) of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat. He began leading the Secretariat on 1 April 2015 and will serve in this role for the next four years.
