Statement on International Women’s Day, 8 March 2021: Celebrating and empowering women to conserve our marine and coastal ecosystems
The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF), through its Regional Secretariat, joins all nations in celebrating International Women’s Day.
On behalf of the CTI-CFF, the Regional Secretariat, comprising the six member countries, expresses its heartfelt condolences and sympathies to the family of the former Prime Minister H.E. Sir Michael Thomas Somare, the government, and the people of Papua New Guinea on his passing.
The USAID-initiated two-year Sustainable Fish Asia (SUFIA) project, implemented by Research Triangle Institute (RTI) in partnership with CTI-CFF and SEAFDEC, aims to improve the management of marine biodiversity and fisheries resources in the Indo-Pacific region. One of the main tasks of the project is to support partner organizational capacity assessments and capacity-building initiatives.
