Every four years the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) holds a World Conservation Congress (WCC), bringing together representatives of government, the scientific community, and conservationists from around the world to share experiences and discuss the future of conservation. This congress is the world’s largest gathering of conservationists, and is pivotal in shaping policy and global strategy for the effective protection of biodiversity and safeguarding of livelihoods.
