On December 6, 2012, local government leaders from Coral Triangle member countries - Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, and Solomon Islands- gathered in Manila, Philippines and signed a declaration advocating for stronger and more direct engagement with the Coral Triangle Initiative (CTI) and its bodies including the CTI Secretariat and National Coordinating Committees.

Climate Change Adaptation for Coral Triangle Communities: A Guide for Vulnerability Assessment and Local Early Action Planning is a comprehensive set of cutting-edge scientific and social instruments that local governments and communities can use to assess their vulnerability to climate change and develop their own local action plans to address these. The guide tackles one of the major threats to the Coral Triangle’s reefs.
