It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Mr. Antonio de Jesus, Chief of the Department of Technology Innovations and Fish Disease – General Directorate of Fisheries, Timor-Leste’s Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries, and a member of Timor-Leste’s CTI-CFF National Coordinating Committee.

Mr. de Jesus had been an active participant in CTI-CFF technical working group activities, senior official meetings, and CTI committees, including the RPOA 2.0 Steering Committee/Task Group and the Internal Resource Committee.

The Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF), Indonesia’s Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF), and Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) have joined efforts to build on existing systems and expertise to further develop capacity for shark and ray conservation in the Coral Triangle (CT) region.

Manila, Philippines, December 2018 – After two years, the symbolic gavel of the chairmanship of the CTI-CFF Council of Ministers has been passed on to the Solomon Islands from the Philippines. The Philippines also handed over the chairmanship of the CTI-CFF Committee of Senior Officials to the Solomon Islands.
