Report and proceedings of the first Coral Triangle Fishers Forum (CTFF) was co-hosted by WWF Coral Triangle Program and the Government of Indonesia (Ministry of Marine Affairs), with Collaborating Partner the Southeast Asia Fisheries Development Centre (SEAFDEC), in Bali Indonesia on June 15-17, 2010.  Bringing together over 130 regional stakeholders from 10 countries, including leaders in the fishing community, fishing organizations, seafood companies, scientists and technicians to discuss ways on improving fisheries in the region.

Local fishers, seafood company representatives, researchers, and other stakeholders are set to gather in Suva, Fiji from June 18–22, 2012, for the second Coral Triangle Fishers Forum. The event is expected to bring together approximately 100 participants to identify strategies and models for effective partnerships on seafood traceability, reducing illegal, unregulated, and unreported (IUU) fishing, and achieving long-term sustainability and security in the seafood sector.

The Government of Indonesia, in collaboration with development partners, will host a high-level side event during the Leader’s Summit at Rio+20 to highlight the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries and Food Security’s (CTI-CFF) achievements to date and lay out the vision and call to action for its future. The event will be held on June 21 from 19:00–20:30 at Room P3-B in Rio Centro.
