The Entry Meeting for the 2023 Financial Audit between the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) and the Indonesian Supreme Audit Institution (Badan Pemeriksa Keuangan RI) marked an important step toward enhancing financial transparency and accountability for the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat. Held on April 22, 2024, at the Independence Meeting Room of the BPK office in Jakarta, the meeting was chaired by Dr. Bahtiar Arif SE, M.Fin., Secretary General of BPK.
Attendees included Ikhtaria Syaziah from BPK's Global Partnership Center, alongside auditors. CTI-CFF was represented by Executive Director Dr. Frank Keith Griffin, Deputy Executive Director for Corporate Services Mr. Hanung Cahyono, Deputy Executive Director for Program Services Mr. Christovel R. S. Rotinsulu, and Communication and Information Manager Ms. Dewi Satriani.
Both parties introduced their respective organizations and agreed upon the audit scope, methodology, and timeline. Dr. Bahtiar expressed BPK's strong interest in supporting regional institutions like CTI-CFF, leveraging BPK’s extensive experience in auditing international bodies.
Dr. Griffin welcomed BPK's involvement and highlighted the audit's role in strengthening CTI-CFF's management, operational efficiency, and overall performance.
Crucially, both parties emphasized that the audit's purpose is not fault-finding but providing assurance and establishing mechanisms to improve operational procedures, particularly in financial management. This collaborative effort reflects a shared commitment to transparency, accountability, and the sustainable management of marine ecosystems within the Coral Triangle region.
