The USAID-initiated two-year Sustainable Fish Asia (SUFIA) project, implemented by Research Triangle Institute (RTI) in partnership with CTI-CFF and SEAFDEC, aims to improve the management of marine biodiversity and fisheries resources in the Indo-Pacific region. One of the main tasks of the project is to support partner organizational capacity assessments and capacity-building initiatives.
The SUFIA participatory organizational capacity assessment is working with CTI-CFF to develop the Capacity Development Action Plan (C-DAP). SUFIA will support CTI-CFF’s implementation of the C-DAP by providing technical assistance and modest funding for key procurements through a grant. At the conclusion of this process, CTI-CFF is expected to have enhanced its capacity, including financial and administrative compliance systems, enabling it to contract directly with USAID and other major donor organizations. This process also aims to improve CTI-CFF’s performance in serving its constituents and increase its viability through effective private sector and donor engagement.
To support this process, SUFIA is conducting a Participatory Local Organizational Capacity Assessment (PLOCA) online survey targeting CTI-CFF’s National Coordinating Committees, Working Groups, and partners. This survey is part of the organizational capacity assessment and development of the C-DAP in close coordination between SUFIA and CTI-CFF. The survey has four main sections: (1) Respondent Information; (2) Leadership and Performance; (3) Compliance and Controls; and (4) Partner Engagement and Sustainability.
