The CTI-CFF made critical progress in enabling new partners to join the initiative with the development of criteria and an application and review process. These criteria were approved at the 4th CTI-CFF Ministerial Meeting held in Putrajaya, Malaysia, on November 26, 2012.

“Partners” remain a select group of strategic supporters as outlined by the CTI Rules and Regulations. Other supporters are involved as part of a “CTI Stakeholder Group,” which shares information on their activities, receives updates on CTI plans and programs, and may be invited to meetings on a case-by-case basis (not automatically). The process for becoming a CTI Partner involves submitting an application to the Secretariat, which then facilitates review by the CTI Council of Ministers.

The criteria for becoming a CTI Partner include:

  • Demonstrated commitment, capability, and integrity to be a major supporter over a sustained period of time for the implementation of the CTI Regional Plan of Action (RPOA) and National Plans of Action (NPOAs).
  • A commitment to work with the Regional Secretariat, National Coordinating Committees (NCCs), and other Partners in planning and providing support toward achieving the shared vision of the CTI-CFF.
  • A commitment to work with the CT6 countries and other Partners to help develop the CTI-CFF as a regional forum, and to help plan, coordinate, and mobilize efforts to achieve the successful implementation of the CTI-CFF RPOA and NPOAs.
