The CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat recently conducted a courtesy visit to the North Sulawesi Provincial Government, engaging with Governor Olly Dondokambey, Vice Governor Steven Kandouw, Provincial Secretary Steve Kepel, and Head of the Provincial Marine and Fisheries Agency, Mrs. Tinneke Adams.
The visit aimed to introduce the new management team of the Regional Secretariat, including Executive Director Dr. Frank Keith Griffin, Deputy Executive Director for Corporate Services Hanung Cahyono, Deputy Executive Director for Program Services Christovel R.S. Rotinsulu, and CEO of the Coral Triangle Trust Fund, Dr. Yang Mee Eng.
During the meeting, the Regional Secretariat team presented key insights into the Regional Plan of Action 2.0, which serves as the guiding framework for the six CTI-CFF member countries. They also discussed the Coral Triangle Conservation Fund (CTCF) initiative and shared plans for the upcoming Coral Triangle Day 2024. Additionally, the Secretariat expressed its commitment to promoting Manado and the surrounding areas as a premier tourist destination through its initiatives.
This engagement is expected to strengthen the partnership between the North Sulawesi Provincial Government and the Regional Secretariat, fostering mutual support and enhancing the province’s profile as both the host of the Regional Secretariat and the birthplace of CTI-CFF. Through collaborative efforts, both parties aim to advance conservation initiatives and promote sustainable development across the Coral Triangle region.
