CTI-CFF participates in the Women Maritime Asia Regional Conference

CTI-CFF, through its Regional Secretariat, participated in the Women Maritime Asia Regional Conference with the theme "Empowering Women in Maritime: Bridging the Gap", held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia from 9–11 April 2019. The conference was supported by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Dr. Sharifah Nora Ibrahim, Deputy Executive Director for Program Services of the CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat, was invited to speak at the conference.

The conference aimed to provide support to women managers in maritime and port sectors, with the goal of strengthening WIMA Asia's regional cooperation network, shaping the agenda and focus for WIMA Asia, and further promoting the role and contribution of women to the maritime sector.

CTI thanks IMO for their full support and hopes for future collaboration with IMO and regional WIMA to further promote women’s leadership and their valuable contributions in the maritime sector.
