The CTI-CFF, through its Regional Secretariat, participated in the 51st Meeting of the SEAFDEC Council in Surabaya, Indonesia, from 18–22 March 2019. The CTI-CFF Regional Secretariat was represented by Interim Executive Director Dr. Hendra Yusran Siry; Deputy Executive Director for Program Services Dr. Sharifah Nora Ibrahim; and Program Support Officer Mr. Ayodya Satryo Anggorojati.
Part of the agenda included discussions on policy considerations for important issues such as combating IUU fishing, emerging concerns like CITES (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora), the implementation of SDG 14, and regional cooperation to promote sustainable fisheries and aquaculture in the ASEAN region.
