The Climate Adaptation Knowledge Exchange (CAKE) highlighted the Coral Triangle Initiative’s efforts to ensure climate change adaptation in the world’s most biodiverse marine environment by featuring the CTI Region-wide Early Action Plan for Climate Change Adaptation (CCA) in its December 2011 newsletter. CAKE (www.cakex.org) noted that the early action plan sets forth urgent and immediate actions needed across the Coral Triangle to build coastal community resilience to climate change.

CAKE is a free online database of climate change adaptation resources and a joint project of Island Press and EcoAdapt. It provides a virtual library of case studies on on-the-ground adaptation efforts, useful resources and tools to support adaptation action, and a directory of individuals and organizations working on climate change. Some of its featured resources include Planning for Coastal Resilience, Best Practices for Calamitous Times by Timothy Beatley, and Vulnerability of Tropical Pacific Fisheries and Aquaculture to Climate Change by Johann D. Bell, Johanna E. Johnson, and Alistair Hobday.
