Description: Following up on a consensus statement in the 12th International Coral Reef Symposium (ICRS) held in 2012 in Cairns, Queensland, Australia, the Indonesian government is organizing the World Coral Reef Conference (WCRC) 2014 in Manado, North Sulawesi. The WCRC, scheduled for May 14-17, is intended to bring together different perspectives, disciplines and expertise to promote the development of an international convention on coral reefs. Participants will come from various countries, representing NGOs and government, as well as academic researchers, tourism/marine entrepreneurs, and environmentalists.
