CTI-CFF is pleased to share updates on our activities from October to December 2022.

During the fourth quarter of 2022, the Coral Triangle Initiative on Coral Reefs, Fisheries, and Food Security (CTI-CFF) continued its efforts to address the challenges facing the marine ecosystem in the Coral Triangle region. At the Conference on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS) COP13 held in Geneva, Switzerland, several new agreements were adopted to protect migratory species and their habitats.

CTI-CFF also focused on enhancing the management and conservation of marine resources. Initiatives included the development of a regional database to monitor sustainable fishing practices and the creation of training programs for local communities and fisheries management agencies. The organization also hosted high-level meetings and workshops, bringing together experts and policymakers to discuss strategies for promoting sustainable marine resource management.

Despite these efforts, the challenges facing the marine ecosystem in the Coral Triangle region remain significant. CTI-CFF remains steadfast in its mission to promote sustainable marine resource management and biodiversity conservation throughout the region.

Looking ahead, CTI-CFF will continue to prioritize sustainable fishing practices, enhance marine resource management, and support the development of innovative solutions to the region’s environmental challenges. The organization is committed to ensuring the long-term health and resilience of the Coral Triangle's marine resources for current and future generations.
